Onward is a place to do the work and to stay able to do it. Tasks, the day you planned, your calendar, and a short wellness check-in live in one product so you are not keeping "real work" in one app and "how I'm doing" in another.
You can ignore the wellness side and use Onward as a task list. The rest of the product still works. The pieces below are how it's meant to be used when you want the whole thing.
Respect capacity
Most tools show the same screen whether you slept nine hours or three. Onward can show less when your capacity is low, and everything when it isn't.
Rest, Ready, Flow, and Off live in the header. Rest shows one task. Ready shows a short list. Flow and Off show the full list. Tasks you can't see are in the backlog. They are not deleted, rescheduled, or assigned to someone else. Switch mode and they are back.
Your manual choice always wins over an energy score from the morning routine. The longer version is Adaptive interface.
Decide the day, then work it
A backlog is a storage room. A day is five tasks, or fewer, in an order you chose. Plan My Day is that commitment. Finishing the list is a full day. If you have more in you, you plan another batch on purpose. Unfinished tasks stay open. Onward does not roll them forward for you.
One workflow, not four apps
The pieces are meant to be used as one day:
- A short morning routine logs mood and energy.
- Plan My Day picks what would make the day count.
- My Tasks is where you do the work — list, board, or the task calendar.
- The Calendar page shows the day as it actually is: meetings, focus blocks, breaks.
- Focus mode is a timed session with the break decided before you start.
- A shutdown routine closes the loops so they don't follow you into the evening.
- Your Wellness is where a week of that data becomes a pattern.
Onward Guide sits beside the task list and suggests a next step from what's open and, if you've logged it, how you're doing. A suggestion is a suggestion. Nothing is assigned, completed, or rescheduled unless you do it.
You stay in charge
Saved views, filters, and columns change what you see. They do not change the tasks. Bulk edit is the action that does, and only after you pick the new value.
A shared view is a shared definition — "ready for review" means the same list for the team — not a way to watch how someone works. Team Health is aggregated, and each person chooses a sharing level, including none.
Wellness answers, journal entries, and intentions stay yours. See Privacy and your data.
Where to go next
If you are setting up, start with Getting started. If you are looking for a button, the how-tos are the task articles: columns and filters, bulk edit, task details, and comments.
Common questions
Do I have to use the wellness features?
No. Turn the adaptive interface Off and skip the routines. The task list still works.
Will Onward complete or reschedule work for me?
No. Guide can suggest. You complete, move, and plan.
Where did the tasks go that I can't see?
They are still there. Check Rest mode, then filters and the workspace you're in. Troubleshooting walks through it.
