Task comments

Comment on a task, mention a teammate, reply, edit, like, and leave a voice comment.

Comments are the thread on a task. Use them when the work needs a conversation. The description, note chips, and voice note in task details stay on the task itself.

Open the thread from Comments on the row, or from the comments control in the task drawer. On a phone, use Comments on the row.

The count on the row updates when comments are added or removed.

Writing a comment

  1. Open the thread.
  2. Write in Write a comment… @ to mention.
  3. Type @ and pick a workspace member to mention them. They can follow the link back to the task.
  4. Send the comment.

Rich text is available in the composer: formatting, not a separate document.

Replies, edits, and likes

  • Reply opens the reply box (Write a reply…). Replies (N) shows the thread under that comment.
  • Edit comment and Edit reply are available on your own messages. Placeholders read Edit comment… @ to mention and Edit reply… @ to mention.
  • Delete comment and Delete reply remove that message. Deleting a comment removes its replies with it.
  • Like (the heart) marks a comment. Unlike removes it. The count sits on the button. Likes are on comments, not a separate reaction picker.

Voice comments

Record voice comment on the composer, and Record voice reply on a reply, attach audio to the thread. Playback sits on the comment. A transcript can follow after the recording is processed.

If recording is turned off for the workspace, those controls are hidden. The text composer stays.

A voice comment is not the Voice note in task details. The note is one clip on the task. A voice comment is part of the thread.

Common questions

Who can see a comment?

People who can open the task. Mentioning someone with @ points them at it; it does not grant access they didn't already have.

Can I comment on several tasks at once?

No. Bulk edit changes fields. Comments are one task at a time.

Do likes notify people?

A like is a mark on the comment. Mentions are the way to pull a specific teammate in.
