Your Wellness

The wellness dashboard — mood check-ins, journaling, the Balance Index, and the charts that connect how you felt to what you shipped.

Your Wellness is the page where your wellbeing data and your work data sit side by side. It's in the sidebar as Your Wellness.

The premise is simple: mood tracking in a separate app tells you how you felt. Mood tracking next to your task history tells you why — and what to change.

Quick actions

At the top, Quick actions lets you log without leaving the page — "Log mood, journal, and habits without leaving the dashboard."

Mood

A 1–5 scale: Very low, Low, Okay, Good, Great. Press Save mood. You can log more than once a day; if you've already logged, Onward notes "Mood logged today — you can add another check-in anytime."

Logging twice is often more useful than logging once — a "Good" at 9am and a "Low" at 4pm says something a single daily average would hide. The How your days start vs end card is built on exactly that.

Journal

New journal entry opens a Wellness reflection prompt. Free text, as short or long as you like. Journal entries are private to you.

Habits

Today's habits appear inline so you can check them off here, with View heatmap for the full history.

The analytics cards

Below quick actions, Onward builds out a stack of cards as your data accumulates.

Card What it tells you
Onward Balance Index A single composite score for how sustainable your current pattern is
How you felt vs what you shipped Mood, tasks completed, and energy plotted together over the last 14 days
Completion Velocity How your throughput is trending
Quick wins Small, specific suggestions drawn from your own patterns
Behavioral Patterns Recurring habits in how you work — the ones you may not have noticed
How your days start vs end Morning mood against evening mood, to catch days that reliably drain you
Sleep, steps & recovery Body signals, when a health data source is connected
Wellness Intelligence Combined view across mood, sleep, habits, and journaling
Focus snapshot Focus blocks in the last 7 days, average length, and post-break mood
Push count How often you're rescheduling the same work

Reading the Balance Index

Treat it as a trend, not a grade. A single low day means very little; three weeks sliding downward while completion velocity climbs is the classic pre-burnout signature, and that's the pattern the card exists to make visible early enough to act on.

Reading push count

A task you've pushed six times isn't a discipline problem. It's usually one of three things: it's bigger than you estimated, it's blocked on someone else, or you don't actually want to do it. All three deserve a decision rather than another reschedule.

Needing more data

Early on you'll see Charts need a few more check-ins. Most cards want roughly one to two weeks of check-ins before the trends mean anything. The fastest way to get there is the morning and shutdown routines — they collect mood and energy as part of a 60-second flow, so you don't have to remember to visit this page.

The rest of the wellness area

Your Wellness is the hub; several tools have their own pages:

Page What it's for
Habits Daily habits with streaks and a year-long heatmap
Gratitude A categorised gratitude journal
Work-Life Boundaries Define and hold boundaries around hours, communication, and availability
Mindfulness Center Guided meditations and a meditation timer
Quick wins The full list of boosters, filterable by type

See Habits, gratitude, and boundaries for how each works.

Who can see this

Your mood entries, journal, and reflections are private to you. Nothing on this page is visible to teammates by default.

If your workspace uses Team Health, you control what — if anything — gets contributed, through Settings → Privacy: No sharing, Basic — counts only, or Detailed — full participation. Even at the most open level, teammates see aggregated signals, never your journal text. See Privacy and your data.

Common questions

How much data do I need before the charts are useful?

Roughly one to two weeks of regular check-ins. Until then Onward shows the "Charts need a few more check-ins" banner rather than drawing conclusions from three data points.

Can I log mood more than once a day?

Yes, and it's encouraged. Multiple check-ins are what make the start-of-day vs end-of-day comparison possible.

Is my journal private?

Yes. Journal and reflection entries are yours alone and are never shared with your workspace at any sharing level.

Where does sleep and step data come from?

The Sleep, steps & recovery card populates from a connected health data source. If you haven't connected one, the card stays empty and every other card works normally.

Is the Balance Index a medical or clinical score?

No. It's a product signal built from your own usage patterns to help you notice trends. It is not a diagnostic tool and is not a substitute for advice from a qualified professional.

Can I export my wellness data?

Yes — Settings → Privacy has Request Data Export.
